Join us for Discover Rotary — an informal evening to connect with fellow Rotarians, introduce others to our work and explain how to get involved. The event is open to anyone curious about Rotary membership and community service and will serve as our Wine or Whine fellowship of the month.
When: Thursday, Oct. 15, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Where: The Plaza Restaurant
This is a joint event with the district and other local clubs. Please invite friends and colleagues who may be interested in joining Rotary.
Brief agenda and program:
Register here.

The club will meet on Thursday, Oct. 15 at 11:30 a.m. at Second Harvest Food Bank to sort and pack produce for our monthly food distribution. After we finish packing, enjoy a box lunch with the team or grab one to go.
Our produce distribution will be Saturday, Oct. 17 at Weston Park. Set up begins at 7:30 a.m. and distribution begins at 8:30 or as soon as we are set up.

We distribute approximately 7,000 pounds of fresh produce and healthy frozen proteins each month. Join us and bring some friends to support this important cause.
There’s a several-page feature in the October issue of the Rotary magazine dedicated to longevity and tennis. The article includes quotes from our own Eugene McNease, past chairman, International Tennis Fellowship of Rotarians, as well as perspectives from other ITFR leadership.
The article shares a warm, informative look at how tennis intersects with long-term wellness and community connections through Rotary’s International Tennis Fellowship.
If you have the magazine at home, the feature begins on page 14. Read it online here. Check it out!
FYI: To read the article online, you will need to register your email address. You can also subscribe to the digital version and cancel your printed, mailed copy if you would like.
Another crazy week with college football! Who would have thought Texas would get beat by Oklahoma?! None of us chose Oklahoma!! We had 25 players for the week – our largest group to date! The Legendary Losers beat the Touchdown Divas by 1 person!!! Come on ladies ………
It is rivalry week for the Auburn Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs – known as the “Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry”! Join the fun!
We had two new winners for week 6!! Stay tuned and keep playing.
Complete this form and send to Janet by 6 p.m. on Thursday or give to her at Rotary. She'll have copies at Second Harvest.

Join us Wednesday, Oct. 21 at Grassroots Coffee anytime between 7:30 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. for a cup of coffee and a casual conversation with fellow Rotarians! Stay long enough to enjoy breakfast and get to know your fellow Rotarians better or grab your coffee to go. No agenda, no program.

Thomasville's GRSP student lunch, part of the 61st Annual Larry Frosteg Pelham International Student Weekend, is Friday, Nov. 6 at the Pebble Hill Learning Center.
We need members to sign up to participate. Volunteers are needed for set up and clean up as well as to sit at tables with groups of GRSP students. Set up begins at 11:15 a.m., and the event is expected to end around 2 p.m.
Sign up here or talk to Debbie Goodman.
Planning is underway for our third annual online auction and holiday party. Please consider whether you or your friends and family members have items that could be added to this year's auction. For example, a large percentage of our proceeds in both 2024 and 2025 came from vacation rentals.
The auction committee has been hard at work:
Other items secured include:
The list is continuing to grow! If you have access to a phenomenal vacation spot or other auction item or are willing to help underwrite the events, please connect with Marta Jones-Turner.

The auction will end on Thursday, Dec. 3 at our annual holiday party. The auction benefits the Big Impact Project, supporting fresh produce markets — which distributed 70,000 pounds of food last year, provides vegetable grow bags at two markets each year, and more. RSVP for the event here.
