Thursday, Aug. 14
Jennifer Green, Executive Director of Halcyon Home

This week, our guest speaker will be Jennifer Green, executive director of Halcyon Home. A Thomasville native, Jennifer has a bachelor of social work from Thomas University and a master's degree in social work from Valdosta State University. She is a licensed social worker and has been executive director of Halcyon Home since October 2023.

She will provide an update about the facility, which provides a safe temporary shelter for women and their children who are victims of domestic violence. Halcyon Home not only provides shelter, but it also provides counselors, advocates, legal experts, and volunteers to provide care and support.

Thursday, Aug. 14
Blood Drive

The OneBlood Blood Mobile will be onsite at Vashti this week during the Rotary meeting.

All donors will receive a gift and a wellness checkup, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, iron count and cholesterol screening.

Don't forget to bring your ID when you arrive for your appointment.

Wednesday, Aug. 20
Coffee Chat

Join us Wednesday, Aug. 20 at Grassroots anytime between 7:30 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. for a cup of coffee and a casual conversation with fellow Rotarians! Stay long enough to eat breakfast or grab your coffee to-go. No agenda, no requirements.

Thursday, Aug. 21
Care Packages for the Homeless

On Thursday, Aug. 21, we will meet at Vashti for a regular, 12:15 p.m., meeting to pack care packages for the homeless in our community.

Care packages will include items like deodorant, feminine products, wash cloths, toilet paper, toothpaste, toothbrushes, hand sanitizer, snacks, and bottled water. They will be distributed to the homeless coalition and Thomas County Cares.
