Honoring Outstanding Rotarians

At last week's club meeting, we had the pleasure to honor fellow Rotarians and an amazing couple from the community with club awards for the year. Award recipients were:

  • Scooter Grubbs: Dr. Charlie Watt Lifetime Service Award
  • Walter & Andre’ Marria: Rotarians of the Year
  • Jason Goldman: Outstanding New Member
  • Carol Jones: Outstanding Longtime Member
  • Joe Brown: Outstanding Longtime Member

J and Lisa Knapp (community) and Andy Jones (Rotarian) received the Woody Faircloth Four Way Test Award.

What is Rotary’s Four Way Test?

Of the things we think say or do,
Is it the truth?
Is it fair to all?
Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

It was great to recognize all of these people for their positive impact on Rotary and the community.

Avoiding Heat Stroke

This week, Rotarian Copper Comita will present a timely program about heat stroke, as summer kicks off later this month. She will share common signs and symptoms of heat stroke and how to avoid it. She'll also share tips for treating heat stroke, common causes, and state-wide education efforts related to heat stroke.

Debbie Goodman also will present Georgia Rotary Student Program (GRSP) awards and the blood mobile will be onsite for those who would like to give blood.

Monday, June 16
Board Transition Session

All current and/or upcoming board members should attend a special joint board meeting from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 16 at the Chamber of Commerce. This is an important session as we transition from Marta's presidency to Nate's. If you are a current member of the board or will become one under Nate's presidency, please attend.
