Gridiron Challenge
The Touchdown Divas did it this week! We beat the Legendary Losers!! The weekend was another wild one for upsets!! No one expected Alabama to lose and obviously, Janet was the only one who stayed true to her Tigers and picked them to WIN!! Several ranked teams are taking the week off to gear up for the second half of the season.
Let’s continue Divas to beat the Losers with the fun game of football picks!

Complete this form and send to Janet by 6 p.m. on Thursday or give to her at Rotary. She'll have copies at Rotary.
Oct. 29 and Nov. 6
GRSP

Our program on Thursday, Oct. 29 will feature our two GRSP students:
- Sophie Petersen, from Denmark, whose host parents are Wilson and Jill Carraway; and
- Karahan Akinci from Turkey, whose host parents are Scott and Peggy Rich.
Sophie and Karahan are Thomasville's 101st and 102nd GRSP students. They'll let us know more about their backgrounds and how their Rotary year in Georgia is progressing so far.
Then, the following week, the two will be back in town for Thomasville's GRSP student lunch, part of the 61st Annual Larry Frosteg Pelham International Student Weekend, on Friday, Nov. 6 at the Pebble Hill Learning Center.
We need members to sign up to participate. Volunteers are needed for set up and clean up as well as to sit at tables with groups of GRSP students. Set up begins at 11:15 a.m., and the event is expected to end around 2 p.m.
Sign up here or talk to Debbie Goodman.

Rotary Online Auction
Planning is underway for our third annual online auction and holiday party. Please consider whether you or your friends and family members have items that could be added to this year's auction. For example, a large percentage of our proceeds in both 2024 and 2025 came from vacation rentals.
The auction committee has been hard at work:
- 8 vacation stays secured
- At least two more being solicited
Other items secured include:
- Guns
- A band performance at your next event
- Lessons for tennis, fly fishing, Mahjong
- Athletic pursuits including a pickle ball session at a private court, a YMCA family membership for a year, and hot yoga sessions
- Infrared sauna visits
- Taste of Thomasville food tour
- A Vespa scooter
- Ceramic art
The list is continuing to grow! If you have access to a phenomenal vacation spot or other auction item or are willing to help underwrite the events, please connect with Marta Jones-Turner or auction team members Marcy Sizemore, Gretchen Bickel, Mary Beth Donalson, Laura Pike, Kellie Merck, James Bue, Arthur Wigfall or David Sofferin.

The auction will end on Thursday, Dec. 3 at our annual holiday party. The auction benefits the Big Impact Project, supporting fresh produce markets — which distributed 70,000 pounds of food last year, provides vegetable grow bags at two markets each year, and more. RSVP for the event here.
