From Our Club President
Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! I look forward to seeing you on Friday – via Zoom or in person.

As we enter the New Year, we are keeping close watch on the COVID-19 numbers and with everyone’s safety in mind, seriously thinking about whether it makes sense to continue live meetings for the moment as cases are on the rise. We have not made any decision yet, so be on the lookout for information from us about this.

We also have some opportunities to keep up our work for the community as we start the New Year. The Community Assistance Center is looking for helpers in its Food Bank over the next few weeks, and there are two home opportunities as well – one for the Laws of Life essay contest and an opportunity to learn more about Human Trafficking through courses sponsored by Rotary and the Center for Civil and Human Rights. Take a look at these opportunities in the articles below and think about whether you are able and willing to help.

I am glad to have each and every one of you as part of my Rotary Family.

This Week's Speaker
Todd Galanti, Warehouse Manager, Costco Perimeter

Join us this Friday for Dunwoody Rotarian Todd Galanti, Warehouse Manager for Costco's Perimeter location. You can join us in person at the Dunwoody Country Club or via Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86202979419.

Todd was born and raised in Dunwoody and is a graduate of Chestnut Elementary, Peachtree Middle and Dunwoody High School. He received a Bachelors Degree in Economics with a minor in Business Foundations from the University of Texas at Austin. He began his career with Costco in 2001 as the Assistant Front End Manager in Austin, Texas' first Costco location. Todd has worked in many Costco locations including: Wayne, NJ, Nanuet, Yonkers, and Port Chester, NY, Alpharetta, Perimeter, and Brookhaven, GA, before being promoted to Warehouse Manager in Knoxville, TN in 2012.

In May 2018, Todd transferred back "home" to Atlanta and is currently warehouse manager at the Perimeter location. Todd and his wife of 17 years, Julia, have three children (Stella - 13, Ileana - 10, and Jaron - 8) and two Vizslas (Rudy and Dozer). Todd enjoys spending time with his family, riding his Peloton bike, golfing, working in the yard, and going to the beach. Todd is a die hard Atlanta Falcons fan. Currently a Dunwoody Rotarian, Todd joined Rotary in 2013 in Knoxville, TN in the Rotary Club of Farragut.

Something you may not know about Todd is that when was 17 years old he almost died in a biking accident right here in Dunwoody. Wearing a helmet saved his life. The thing that Todd loves most about his job is simply the fantastic company he works for and watching employees learn, develop and grow. His two favorite movies of all time are Top Gun and Rudy. His favorite quotes are "What you put into it is what you get out of it" and "Everything rises and falls on leadership."

Service Opportunity
CAC Food Pantry and Thrift Shop Need Our Help

As we are getting adjusted to the hustle and bustle of the New Year, please don't forget about those folks who need our assistance. The Community Assistance Center of Sandy Springs is very short of people to help in the Food Pantry and Thrift Store over the next couple of weeks. If you have a few extra hours to spare, check out all the empty shifts they have available by going to https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080d49aaaa2ca46-cacfood.

Remember, it is all the little things you can do that add up to a beautiful community of helping and serving those in need.

If you have any questions, contact Nolan Feintuch,  CAC Volunteer Coordinator at  678-362-5583. Be sure to let Nolan know you are a Dunwoody Rotary volunteer!
