Henry County Turns Used Medical Equipment into Renewed Independence

The Rotary Club of Henry County continued one of its most impactful annual service projects this year partnering with Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC) to collect used durable medical equipment that will be refurbished and provided to people with disabilities and financial need. Thirteen Rotarians and Volunteers contributed 88 volunteer hours, staffing the community drop-off location while other club members traveled throughout the area picking up equipment from donors who were unable to transport it themselves.

This year’s drive collected an impressive 966 pieces of medical equipment and supplies valued at $267,466. Since the club began tracking the project in 2020, Henry County Rotarians have helped collect 2,094 items with a combined value of more than $1.6 million—giving wheelchairs, walkers, hospital equipment and other essential items a second life while helping neighbors regain mobility, independence and dignity.
